![]() They are similar to reference planes or levels and you use them to host other geometry. So reference lines are reference objects. ![]() If you hover over the reference lines and do a pre-selection, you're going to see that they will show many integrated work planes and model lines don't do that. And I'm going to zoom in a little closer to show you that in addition to the color, you can also see that the model lines are a little bit bolder, but there's another distinction on screen. And in the background, a series of black lines, those are my model lines. So in the foreground, I've got a series of purple lines. ![]() So really, what we should start with, is what is the difference between model lines and reference lines? Well, there's a few differences and I've got some examples of each here on screen. Now, all of the forms we've created so far in the conceptual modeling environment have been model based forms, but what is the difference? Well, quite simply, model based forms are based on model lines and reference-based forms are based on reference lines. In this video, we're going to drop back and consider some basic form making again and talk about the difference between model based forms and reference-based forms.
